🗓 Specimen Collection
Specimens are sent to the laboratory daily, Monday to Friday.
If you are asked to bring a specimen on those days, please ensure that we receive it before 12 noon.
💉 Blood Tests
If you are asked to have a blood test:

It is necessary for this to be done in the mornings at the surgery.
OR

You may attend the Blood Taking Unit at Northampton General Hospital, which runs a drop-in clinic:

Monday to Friday: 7.00am – 4.00pm

Saturday: 7.30am – 12.00 midday
☎ Getting Your Results
To obtain the results of any investigations:
We do not normally ring patients with their results — however, you will be contacted if any abnormal results require action.
🔒 Confidentiality
To protect patient confidentiality:

We are unable to give test results to anyone other than the patient

The only exception is if the patient is under 16 and written consent has been granted

All callers will be asked a few simple questions to verify their identity
📞 Follow-Up
Don't be alarmed if, when ringing for a result, you are asked to speak to a doctor, or asked to make another appointment. This is simply part of our duty to provide safe and thorough care.
